Checking E-mail using a Web Browser
WEBMAIL
If you would like to check your mail on-line (similar to Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail),
simply do this:
- In a web browser, type in: www.[yourdomain.com]/webmail/
- make sure you replace [yourdomain.com]
with YOUR actual domain name along with the domain ending
(.com, .net, .org, etc.)
- Example, Acme Corporation owns www.acme.com .
They would enter: www.acme.com/webmail/
- A User name / Password box will pop up.
Your user name is in the format: yourusername@yourdomain.com
Your password is whatever your password is. (remember, it is case sensitive)
- For example, John Smith at Acme Corporation has the
user name: jsmith and password: 1x3FW89t
- He would input:
user name: jsmith@acme.com
password: 1x3FW89t
- note for the hosting account owner: only the main account
name should not enter the "@yourdomainname.com" part.
The master account name should just enter the user name.
- Now just choose your favorite mail interface: NeoMail, Horde,
or SquirrelMail . You can also change your password, forwarding
options, and autoresponder options here.
- After you have finished checking/sending email, MAKE
SURE TO LOGOUT AND CLOSE THE WEB BROWSER. This cannot
be stressed enough. If you do not close the web browser, anyone
can re-login to your account. CLOSE THE WEB BROWSER
AFTER YOU ARE DONE WITH E-MAIL.
- That wraps up checking your E-mail from a web browser.
